To Long of Wait!

  • Mood:
Gosh it has been 4 months since I last posted! I can't believe the time has went by so fast and that I was so lazy to post anything here in that time. Sorry about that to the few visitors that actually do come here to see what is up. I know there are a few of you by the statistics my page shows me. Well it looks like the colder weather is on the horizon here so that may make me sit in front of my pc a little more and post more often. For this post I have dug up a video that is about 12 years old from a band called Collective Soul. I have always loved this song and the video speaks volumes. It's about a guy that is about to give up on his life from all the crap that goes on in the world today. So he climbs a building and is ready to jump off but......... something saves him??? You'll have to watch the video to find out what. But, I have to say that we all forget about the simple things in life at times and don't take the time to actually look around and enjoy what is on Earth. This video displays that so strong and is the reason I have liked it so much. Give it a watch!

Scare Tactics

  • Mood:
I have a couple of clips here from a show that was aired on The Sci Fi Channel for a few years. They would have some really cool pranks to pull on people that were set up by friends or family. I loved the show and have seen just about every prank. Here are a couple good ones for you..... The Big Foot one is my favorite and I would of loved to pull something like this off!

Everywhere Jellyfish

  • Mood:

I ran across this video and thought it was interesting enough to post here. I have heard about this lake before and even seen an episode of Survivor where the winners of a reward challenge got to go to this lake and swim with the Jellyfish. It is really an incredible sight to see let alone swim with them.

Here is what I found searching for info on this lake:

Jellyfish Lake is a well-known dive site in the Pacific island of Palau. It is one of the rock islands, a series of small, rocky, uninhabited archipelagos off the coast of Koror. Jellyfish Lake is completely isolated, but in the distant past it had an outlet to the ocean. The outlet was closed off and the high jellyfish population was isolated and started to feed on quickly-reproducing algae. Over millions of years, it became an advantage for the jellyfish to lose their stinging cells, or nematocysts. Today, the very high jellyfish population are stingless, and tourists can enjoy swimming with them much closer than would be possible anywhere else.

At night the jellyfish descend into a layer of hydrogen sulfide which is found below 15-20m of depth. SCUBA diving in the lake is prohibited to avoid disturbing the jellyfish and also to reduce the risk of hydrogen sulfide poisoning.

ELO Part 3

  • Mood:

I think I could keep posting these songs from ELO but I think part 3 will be enough for now. Such great memories of years past from these songs. "Last Train to London" is very Disco-ish..... and I was never heavy into Disco but it's still a good song. The song "Calling America" was ELO's last Top 40 hit single here in the States. I have to say that I don't remember it being that big back then and had forgotten about it until I saw this video. It must have only reached #39 or something.. There you go!!! A Great Band!!! Electric Light Orchestra... Look them up sometime when browsing in a music store or something.

ELO Part 2

  • Mood:
Back again here for a follow up of my last ELO post. I dug up a couple more video's of this great band. I have to say that all these new bands that come out these days just don't compare to the music back in the 70's. I have a vast collection of music but always seem to go back to the older stuff more so these days. That is not saying that most bands these days are crap, sure there are some good bands around but it just isn't the same..... just something missing to me.. More to come from ELO!

Mr. Blue Sky

  • Mood:

Ahhhh.... One of my all time favorites from (ELO) Electric Light Orchestra. Mr. Blue Sky is such a happy feel good song that whenever I hear it I have to stop and listen to it. ELO has so many great hits that I will have to look up some more for another post here shortly. What brought me to this post is the recent usage of this song on one of my favorite tv shows, CSI Las Vegas (Bottom Video). I don't know how many times I have heard this song used in numerous things and that goes to show you just how popular this 30 year old song is. You Gotta Love it... Enjoy

Christmas Crabs

  • Mood:
Amazing video here on these Christmas Island Crabs and how they invade the Island each year. About a 150 Million of them actually and each female crab has about 100,000 babies each year to add to it. They show people driving over all these crabs also with their cars. It is an awesome site to see but I don't think I would ever want to visit there when these crabs invade. It's hard watching this video without getting the feeling that something is crawling on you. Incredible!!!

Space

  • Mood:
I like posting unusual vidoes I run across. This one is of the Solid Rocket Booster Seperation of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. They had a camera mounted on the rocket booster and you get to see what the rocket booster goes through once it seperates from the Shuttle. Amazing really if you think about it! Watch to see the different views you get of Earth and the different sounds you can hear all the way down until it hits the ocean. It is somewhat eerie in a sense to me but pretty spectacular...
